Ubuntu Linux version 7.04, codenamed Feisty Fawn, was released this past week. I had been running it for a couple of weeks before hand on my desktop computer and so far, I think it’s been great. Beryl works really nicely, providing a bit of eye candy, but also some functionality. For example, when you mouse over programs in your taskbar, you see a small preview of the window. Also, moving your mouse to (by default) the upper-right corner of the screen gives you something similar to Mac OS X’s Expose – allowing you to see every window at once.
So far, it’s working great – haven’t seen a single bug.
Tonight I also ordered a Linksys WRT54GL from NewEgg. It’ll definitely be experiencing the fun of DD-WRT. It even had free 3-day shipping and a $10 mail in rebate.
